Woodside is a middle class & commercial neighborhood in Western Queens. In the 1860’s Woodside became the largest Irish American community in Queens. Today, even though Woodside shares many different cultures, it is still heavily Irish. Woodside holds their own Saint Patrick’s Day Parade, one day prior to the celebration in Manhattan.
Pictured is Saints & Sinners bar located off Roosevelt Ave. Saints & Sinners is a 2 part bar and has been in the area for over 13 years. The shepherd’s pie comes highly recommended.
Movie maker Francis Ford Coppola is a Woodside native.
