Willets Point is an industrial neighborhood within the town of Corona. This area is also home to the Iron Triangle. The Iron Triangle consists primarily of auto repair shops and scrapyards. This area is due to undergo a $3 billion dollar redevelopment to transform it into a retail & residential district. Willets Point is also home to the Corona Rail Yard and the Casey Stengel Bus Depot.
Pictured is Citifield, located off Roosevelt Ave, home of the New York Mets, which replaced Shea Stadium in 2009. On the day of the 09/11 terrorist attacks, Shea Stadium was used as a city wide relief & housing center.
The only resident of Willets Point is Joseph Ardizzone, who has lived on top of a tire shop since 1932.
