Jackson Heights is a mixed middle class neighborhood. Most of Jackson Heights has been designated as a NYC Historic District by the NYC Landmarks Preservation Comission. Jackson Heights is believed to be the 1st garden city community in the U.S.
Pictured is The Towers Garden Cooperative Apartments located on 80th St. Built in 1924, the Towers private interior garden covers almost twice the space of the actual coop buildings. The original layout offered tennis courts, a golf course & country club.
The nearby Bulova watch factory site was built on the grounds of the former Holmes Airport.
